Homegrown National Park with Barb Scavezze

“We’re rapidly losing habitats that sustain the ecosystem services we depend on. Our National Parks are too few and too far between to adequately preserve native species that our ecosystems need. Homegrown National Park®(HNP) is a national challenge to extend our national parks into our yards and communities by planting native plants and removing invasive species.”  – Barb Scavezze

Barb Scavezze is a climate change activist with a Certificate in Environmental Management and trained by Al Gore as a Climate Reality leader. Her current project is restoring native habitat in an area of her condo’s community. She will talk about HNP’s goal to replace half of the green lawns in the U.S. with native plants to restore ecosystem services, and the steps you can take to shrink your lawn and restore native habitat.
